How to prepare…

The Power of Cold

If you can read my book The Power of Cold before training starts. This will really help you understand how we can use the cold as a force for good in our lives. The book is available online or in shops.

Some people don’t like reading, which is fair enough. The book is also available as an audiobook on Audible.

Ice baths

We can only take people as far as we have gone ourselves. So, our own practise in the cold is vitally important.

With that in mind, another requirement (if possible), is that you get into an ice bath before we meet.

Less is more in the cold. So, your ice baths shouldn’t be endurance tests. Just a quick dip is what we’re after. As you read the book, this approach should become clear.

And / or cold showers at the end of your usual hot shower.

Teacher’s manual

I wanted to send you the ice bath teacher manual now. I don’t expect you to read it before we meet - it’s quite a comprehensive document. But, if you’re interested, you will find what we’ll cover in the manual and more. We’ll be adding addendums to it shortly as well.

Just to be clear, there is no requirement to read through this. I just want you to have it.

What to bring?

Bring what you need to be comfortable - blanket, mat etc. Bring what you need to get in, and out, of an ice bath each day. Bring what you need to be warm afterwards.

Food and drink

On Saturday and Sunday, we will be providing lunch. So, please bring your own snacks and drinks.
