The better it gets

It was a beautiful message to receive.

Charlotte (of It All Starts With a Breath) told me of the incredible feedback she had received from people who had completed her online breathwork course. People said that the breathing had transformed their lives for the better. And it had happened quickly.

Charlotte also told me about how her husband, Jamie, had guided his fellow fire-fighters through a couple of breathing sessions. The feedback was incredible. The fire-fighters felt calm again, peaceful again and safe again.

But, that wasn’t all.

Over the weekend, I was teaching advanced breathwork training to 25 amazing people at The Blissful Breath Academy. At the end of the intense training, we sat down in a circle and I asked them:

“What will you bring home with you from this experience?”

I wish you could hear what they said.

My words can’t do it justice. But, in essence, by deepening their understanding of breathing, their own lives had massively improved: they felt lighter, they had more purpose, their health improved, they felt calmer, more loving and much more.

Finally, it made sense to me:

The more we focus on our breathing, the better everything gets.

Let me explain:

When we focus on our breathing (even for a few minutes a day) we feel safer. Then, we feel calmer. Then, we make better decisions. Then, our body starts to restore itself. Then, how we feel influences the people around us. Then, how they feel influences the people around them. Then, things really change for the better.

Don’t just take my word for it: read this National Geographic article called “How changing the way you breathe can improve your brain and body.“

But, there is a problem. A big one.

We know taking a few minutes a day to breathe is good for us. But, life is busy and other things demand all our attention (or so we think).

So, I want to help you (right now) to find some time to breathe for yourself during your day.

Step 1: make it easy

The biggest lesson I have learnt over the years, is that it must be easy, and convenient, to take time to breathe.

So, I will email you a free 10 minute breathing session every day for the next 10 days.

Just click the link in each email and let me guide you through 10 minutes of breathing.

Easy.

Step 2: let’s do it together

It’s important to take time to breathe at home. It’s equally important to find time to breathe with other people.

When we breathe together, it feels great and it gives deeper meaning to the experience.

If we decide to go to an event in the future, it can motivate us to continue to breathe every day.

It can also inspire us afterwards to continue to practise.

Check out all my upcoming events.

No matter what way of breathing you like. No matter when you do it. There is one simple truth: the more we focus on our breathing, the better everything becomes.
